A new Banking ombudsman of the Republic of Kazakhstan has been elected. Since July 12, 2023, a doctor of Law Darkhan Nurpeissov has become an ombudsman. In accordance with Article 40-1 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan ‘On Banks and Banking Activity in the Republic of Kazakhstan’, the banking ombudsman is elected by secret ballot by the Council of Representatives of banks, financial organizations licensed to conduct banking operations, the Republican public association for the protection of the rights of consumers of financial services and authorized body.
He replaced Yerserik Siyrbaev, who was elected a Banking ombudsman in July 2013.
