Chairman of the Judicial Board for Civil Cases of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sharipov N. met with the Banking Ombudsman of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurpeisov D.
It was noted that the Supreme Court is interested in expanding out-of-court dispute resolution methods that speed up the conflict resolution process by providing the parties with the opportunity to reach mutually beneficial solutions without lengthy litigation.
During the meeting, the amendments introduced by the Law of June 19 this year to some legislative acts on minimizing risks in lending, protecting borrowers’ rights, improving financial market regulation and enforcement proceedings were discussed.
The law strengthens the mechanisms for protecting the interests of citizens and is aimed at avoiding the risks of over-crediting the population.
The powers of the Banking Ombudsman for the pre-trial review of disputes on all citizens’ loans are being expanded, and the post of microfinance ombudsman is also being introduced.
During the meeting, the participants exchanged views on the practical implementation of legislative changes that will come into force on December 21, 2024.
