On 10 July, 2019, an extraordinary meeting of the Council of Representatives for the election of a banking ombudsman was held in connection with the expiration of his term of office.   

   In accordance with Article 40-1 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Banks and Banking Activities in the Republic of Kazakhstan”, a banking ombudsman is elected by the Council of Representatives.

  The Council of Representatives includes the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan, second-tier banks, JSC MO Kazakhstan Mortgage Company and the Republican public association "Yel bіlіgі". Elections are held by secret ballot. Each representative has only one vote.

Re-elected Banking Ombudsman was Yerserik Siirbayev.
